Latvia has successfully completed a transformative 26-month project to modernise its Cadastre information system, supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The initiative included upgrading the entire map database and staff work environment, migrating to modern technologies like PostgreSQL v16 and QGIS v3.28 to replace legacy systems, and introducing a real estate valuation solution. The project also enhanced the public e-service ‘My data in Cadastre’, improving citizens’ access to cadastral data, and released 10 new datasets on the Latvian Open Data Portal to promote transparency and reuse. Looking forward, Latvia is preparing a single integrated platform to streamline all Cadastre processes, delivering faster, more user-friendly services while aligning with modern quality standards.
