Registers of Scotland (RoS) has embarked on building a modern digital mapping platform to strengthen the country’s Land Register. The system integrates over 400 years of cadastral records, property transactions, and geospatial data with real-time updates from the OS MasterMap. This enables accurate representation of legal property boundaries and topographic features while providing structured, accessible land ownership information. By adopting international standards (Land Adoption Domain Model LADM ISO19152), open-source solutions, and automation, RoS has transformed its workflows to efficiently process massive volumes of spatial changes. This initiative ensures Scotland’s land register remains relevant, accurate, and resilient for centuries to come.
