    Project Details

The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) aims to identify and mitigate methane gas leaks as part of efforts to combat climate change. Methane accounts for approximately 25 percent of current global warming and can originate from various sources, including landfills, cow pastures, and leaky pipes beneath city streets distributing natural gas for heating and cooking. Despite being a potent greenhouse gas, methane's impact is 84 times more potent than carbon dioxide over a 20-year timeframe. EDF's objective is to locate and minimize these leaks to mitigate the acceleration of climate change.
