The Utah Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Integration and Data Archiving (IDAR) project is a statewide initiative to improve the accuracy and availability of transportation data. This project modernizes UDOT's management of transportation assets and properties. Using advanced GIS technology, notably ArcGIS, the initiative consolidates, digitizes, and integrates extensive right-of-way data, encompassing property boundaries, legal descriptions, and historical records. Through automated data processing, standardized submissions, and web mapping applications, UDOT streamlines decision-making, bolsters data accuracy, and promotes collaboration across departments. The project facilitates efficient identification of surplus properties, enhances asset management, and substantially boosts revenue from property sales.
