    Project Details

Monroe County hired Spicer Group to conduct an exhaustive inventory of its drainage systems, aiming to establish a comprehensive asset management framework. This initiative included the creation of a digital GIS database encompassing the entire drainage network. Spicer engineers meticulously collected both current and historical data on storm drain systems, digitizing records to form the foundation of the asset management map. Utilizing this data, Spicer Group updated and validated existing maps, while also providing training to county personnel on the utilization of the new GIS system for drainage asset management and identification of potential problem areas or water quality issues. Additionally, as part of the project scope, Spicer Group collaborated with the Monroe County Drain Commissioner staff to develop, refine, and implement GIS collector software tailored for field usage.
