    Project Details

Ramboll, a leading consulting engineering group, partnered with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) to expand the university's campus while ensuring compliance with the DGNB sustainability certification. The DGNB system is a rigorous international benchmark that evaluates sustainability based on ecological, economic, and social criteria throughout all stages of development. To manage the complex data requirements and visualize different expansion scenarios, Ramboll and DTU employed GIS technology and ArcGIS CityEngine. This tool allowed them to create dynamic 3D models of the campus, instantly calculating key performance indicators (KPIs) and assessing compliance with DGNB standards. By integrating real GIS data, CityEngine provided a realistic, interactive environment for exploring various design options, ensuring that the expansion was sustainable and met stakeholder expectations.
