    Project Details

    NavIC - Navigation with Indian Constellation, is an independent navigation satellite system developed by the ISRO. Currently, all smartphones work with GPS- Global Positioning System for navigation purposes. The Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, plans to launch NavIC-based positioning technology available on all 5G smartphones starting in 2025. The indigenous system will include a built-in messaging system. The Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) is working to assist companies in introducing NavIC into the established tracking and navigation market.
