Applanix leverages geospatial technologies in mobile mapping to overcome challenges inherent in urban environments. Focused on precision mapping in a town center in Biberach, Germany, the study employs the Trimble MX50 Mobile Mapping system equipped with LiDAR sensors and GNSS-INS technology from Trimble Applanix. By leveraging innovative solutions such as IN-Fusion+ Single Base processing mode and Applanix LiDAR QC Tools, the project aims to achieve enhanced accuracy and efficiency in mapping despite narrow roads, satellite shading, and complex urban terrain. These technologies enable enhanced accuracy, efficiency, and consistency in mapping, showcasing the potential of geospatial solutions in overcoming urban mapping challenges.
