French Mapping Agency IGN recognized the need for a comprehensive satellite imagery solution to complement its existing data coverage and enhance user experiences. They partnered with PlanetObserver to integrate the PlanetSAT Global base map, known for its high-quality imagery and global coverage. Customization options were provided to seamlessly integrate the new basemap with IGN's existing aerial photography map of France. The project aimed to address challenges such as limited coverage, the need for a realistic base map, and global integration.
