IGN has contributed actively by co-leading thematic working groups targeting renewable energy potential, natural resource preservation beyond biodiversity, and coastline management. Among its concrete deliverables are the Renewable Energy Mapping Portal, which helps local authorities assess and define renewable energy development areas, and the Observatory of French Forests, which enriches statistical and geospatial data to support national and local public policy decisions.
