TruePoint was tasked with laser scanning a series of above-ground pipes connecting various solids tanks and filter structures at a water treatment facility. The objective was to capture the basic exterior footprint of the surrounding buildings and structures, as well as the interior of the water tower, including the 12-inch fill line to the top of the tank and its exit point. TruePoint utilized 3D laser scanning to take multiple scans from different angles, capturing a comprehensive dataset. These scans were combined into a single point cloud, allowing for the creation of an as-is 3D model.
