The Ministry of Jal Shakti, in collaboration with CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute (CSIR-NGRI), Hyderabad, entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on December 21, 2020. This initiative is part of the National Aquifer Mapping Program, to enhance understanding and management of groundwater resources in these areas. This agreement aims to employ advanced heliborne geophysical survey techniques and scientific studies to achieve high-resolution mapping of aquifers and assessment of groundwater resources. The project focuses on regions in the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Haryana, encompassing an extensive area of nearly 1 lakh square kilometers.
