The twin cities of Dharwad -Hubballi are jointly governed by the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation. The corporation through a project under the -Karnataka Urban Water Sector Improvement Project -aims to ensure continuous, round-the-clock water supply to all residents while improving pressure and minimizing water wastage. This ambitious project encompasses several key elements, including the optimization of existing water treatment facilities, constructing new elements, and enhancing existing infrastructure. The primary objective of this initiative is to fulfil the region's water demands for the next 15 to 30 years, marking a vital upgrade to its infrastructure. The key elements in this project are the construction of a 43 Mega litres per day water treatment plant, improvements to pumping stations, expansion of storage and transmission networks, enhancements to distribution networks, and installation of metered connections.
