    In response to the pressing need for effective stormwater management in New York City, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Environmental Planning and Analysis (DEP BEPA) partnered with Arup to embark on a groundbreaking project. This collaborative effort aimed to harness advanced geospatial technology to comprehensively understand the city's land composition, particularly focusing on impervious surfaces and their implications for stormwater management. Through meticulous data gathering, classification, and analysis, the project sought to provide actionable insights to enhance urban resilience against stormwater challenges.
