    Project Details

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) leveraged advanced geospatial data to strengthen its national response. Utilizing the Ordnance Survey’s AddressBase and UPRN datasets, the agency could accurately identify Covid-19 case locations, down to specific property types, to better track the virus spread. This data enabled critical decision-making, such as pinpointing areas with a high concentration of cases and efficiently delivering millions of test kits to vulnerable groups. The OS Highways dataset provided the foundation for locating optimal test sites, ensuring that patients could access testing and vaccination centres easily. This approach enabled UKHSA to respond rapidly and effectively, reducing the virus’s impact and providing invaluable insights for future health crises.
