    Project Details

The GeoRiskPH initiative is a groundbreaking hazard mapping and risk assessment program in the Philippines, designed to safeguard the country’s 108 million residents from natural disasters and climate change impacts. This multi-agency program uses advanced GIS technology and interactive mapping tools to provide real-time, data-driven insights into hazards such as earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides, and flooding.

Central to the initiative are applications like PHIVOLCS FaultFinder and HazardHunterPH, which allow citizens and decision-makers to assess natural hazard exposure and plan accordingly. The platform integrates hazard data, census information, land use, and demographics to create comprehensive risk assessments. Local governments utilize this intelligence to develop emergency plans, optimize evacuation routes, and identify safe sites for critical infrastructure such as hospitals and schools.

The project also supports environmental compliance and guides private sector investment by offering insights into land-use safety and climate risk impacts. With the creation of the National Exposure Database and collaboration with international partners, GeoRiskPH aims to prepare the Philippines for long-term climate resilience and disaster response.
