During the Covid-19 pandemic, Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi) positioned its GeoHive platform at the centre of the national response, enabling fast and reliable data sharing. The platform collected and standardised Covid-19 data from multiple sources, then delivered it via two dashboards: a public-facing dashboard providing daily updates on cases, deaths, and hotspots, and a secure dashboard for government decision-makers, including the National Public Health Emergency Team and the Prime Minister’s office. With daily updates and an average of 10,000 public hits per day, GeoHive empowered both citizens and policymakers with real-time situational awareness, improved transparency, and supported safe reopening measures.
