GeoFlora: Transforming Waste Management with Enterprise GIS Solutions

Source: GIS Cloud
Alam Flora, managing solid waste across 36,429 square kilometers in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Pahang, aimed to enhance its service delivery by streamlining workflows, improving decision-making, and optimizing operations. The result was GeoFlora, an enterprise-wide GIS platform designed to centralize waste management data and empower cross-departmental collaboration.
GeoFlora digitized and consolidated waste management data into a centralized GIS database, offering access to six modules supporting 24 cross-functional applications. These modules enhanced daily operations through mapping capabilities, real-time fleet monitoring, and resource allocation. With features like the Automated Integrated Monitoring System (AIMS), staff could allocate resources efficiently while ensuring health and safety.
Interactive dashboards provided stakeholders with actionable insights, improving engagement and supporting sustainability initiatives. GeoFlora’s integration of telematics, contract, bin management, and health and safety systems created a holistic operational view, strengthening regulatory compliance and optimizing waste management services.
As Alam Flora continues its digital transformation, the next phase of GeoFlora will integrate real-time insights and big data analysis to proactively address challenges, predict future demands, and drive sustainability.
