    Project Details

The Izmit Bay Bridge, a three-kilometer-long suspension bridge, was under construction in a highly seismically active region, where the Anatolian and Eurasian plates intersected. This area, which experienced two major earthquakes in 1999, was characterized by deep deposits of soft, unstable, and liquefiable soils. Fugro was selected by NÖMAYG to provide data collection, interpretation, and consultancy services for the construction contractors, ensuring reliable support. Given the urgency of the financing scheme, a challenging schedule of four months was set, underscoring the need for rapid execution.
