In a monumental endeavor spanning nearly five years, Fugro spearheaded an unprecedented mission to locate the wreckage of the Montevideo Maru, a tragic maritime disaster from World War II. Collaborating closely with the Silentworld Foundation, the Rabaul and Montevideo Maru Society, and with support from Australia’s Department of Defence, Fugro employed its extensive expertise in deepwater hydrography and oceanography to accomplish this historic feat.
