    Project Details

In response to South Africa's electricity supply challenges, Eskom Holdings undertook the ambitious construction of the Kusile Power Station, valued at USD 14 billion, aiming to complete it within 8 years instead of the initially planned 10. This pioneering project involved building a unique power plant for Eskom, featuring six 800-megawatt power generation units equipped with flue gas desulphurization (FGD) technology. To meet the accelerated timeline, Group Technology (Engineering) collaborated with the Kusile team to innovate 3D visualization and simulation technologies, leading to the development of a virtual 3D plant simulator. This simulator would be instrumental in facilitating construction, commissioning, operations, and maintenance activities.
