    Project Details

Agder Energi Nett (AEN), Norway's fourth-largest grid company, faces the challenge of annually inspecting its extensive 5000km high-voltage (HV) power grid, as mandated by law. This inspection necessitates capturing oblique pictures of poles, right-of-way (ROW) images, nadir pictures of lines, and complete LiDAR scanning for vegetation management. Over the past three years, Field has undertaken the task of collecting, analyzing, and presenting data for over 105,000 poles on AEN's power grid. By leveraging electric UAs equipped with sensor payloads developed by Field, the data collection process is conducted efficiently and with minimal environmental disturbance. Real-time data transfer over the 4G/5G network enables AEN to promptly identify any critical issues and take immediate action to ensure grid reliability and safety.
