    The Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L & I) is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of the state's 3.3 million workers. Conducting 5,000 annual inspections, L & I upholds safety standards and protects employees across various workplaces.

    Operating through 19 regional offices, L & I continually evaluates its operations to enhance efficiency and service delivery. To modernize its performance assessment process, the department transitioned from manual methods to data analysis software. This shift enabled L & I to conduct assessments more efficiently and share results effectively, leading to increased productivity and improved communication within the organization. With a focus on evaluating office efficiency and customer service, L & I embraced a spatially informed approach to streamline its evaluation process.
