The maintenance and inspection of railway infrastructures are critical for ensuring the safety and integrity of rail networks. Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology has emerged as a pivotal tool in this regard, offering non-invasive and accurate solutions. In this context, a surveying project conducted by Boviar, an Italian company specializing in diagnostic and monitoring systems for civil engineering, geotechnics, and geology, serves as an illustrative example. The Boviar-led project, in collaboration with IDS GeoRadar, demonstrates the pivotal role of GPR technology in railway maintenance. Through the use of the Stream DP system and IQMaps software, the project aims to revolutionize underground infrastructure mapping, emphasizing GPR's adaptability in rugged terrains near railway areas for improved safety and maintenance efficiency.
