The Edensoaring Gliding Club operates near Skirwith in Cumbria and provides flight instruction and introductory lessons for aspiring glider pilots. They fly over the challenging Pennine Ridge, which can be hazardous for inexperienced pilots. To aid in training, the club sought a detailed printed 3D model of the gliding area. This model should clearly depict canyons and other subtle terrain characteristics visible from the cockpit.
