    Project Details

After Hurricane Ian struck, causing widespread devastation and significant infrastructure damage, the RAPID Facility, based at the University of Washington, embarked on a mission to assess the impact of the disaster. Their objective was to create high-resolution maps of heavily damaged areas, particularly focusing on barrier island areas such as Sanibel, San Carlos, and Fort Myers Beach off the Florida coast. These aerial maps were essential for understanding the extent of damage to structures and the community's response to the disaster.
