The collapse of Saddle Dam D on July 23, 2018, led to a devastating flash flood in Laos, resulting in numerous fatalities and displacing thousands of people. 3vG conducted a historical analysis of Sentinel-1 SAR data to determine if advanced InSAR techniques could have detected early signs of structural displacement within the dam prior to the collapse.
