    Project Details

Agright Technologies and Dole Asia have joined forces with the EOSDA Crop Monitoring platform to develop a transformative agri-tech solution for managing banana plantations across the Philippines and Sri Lanka and its 50-hectare rice-farms. Facing the global threat of Fusarium Tropical Race 4 (TR4) and other pathogens devastating banana crops, Agright integrates advanced satellite technology to monitor crop health and environmental conditions in regular intervals. By leveraging the chlorophyll and vegetation indices provided by EOSDA, Agright identifies potential disease onset, assesses vegetation stress, and strategically isolates affected plots to contain pathogen spread. Furthermore, EOSDA’s elevation maps offer data on terrain adaptability for irrigation, enabling precise water management across diverse soil types. The project also explores integrating terrain analysis for rice cultivation, were elevation impacts crop viability, especially in organic rice demonstration plots. This innovation allows Agright and Dole to take proactive steps in improving crop resilience, thus ensuring sustainability and profitability.
