Enhanced Agricultural Subsurface Drainage Systems with Geospatial Intelligence

Source: TerraGo
Since 1947, Ross SWCD has been guiding and educating farmers on preserving natural resources. Farmers in Ross County manage drained farmland with subterranean drainage systems to prevent soil water saturation. Excess water in the soil can harm crops, reducing yields or causing complete destruction. Recently, Ross SWCD transitioned to using GeoPDF for sharing data with farmers, offering user-friendly, practical layered maps of agricultural drainage systems. This innovative approach ensures geospatial accuracy and accessibility for farmers without GIS software training.
