Autopista al Mar 1, a motorway connecting Medellin city with West and South West of Antioquia. It is a Fourth Generation roads initiative by the Colombian government and can also be called Highway to the Sea 1. The project involves modernisation of a 65km section of the motorway and new constructions of 35 bridges and a 5km tunnel. It now connects the main commercial exchange centers at the Caribbean Coast, the Pacific Coast and the Magdalena River.
