    Project Details

Located in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, Piacenza boasts historic landmarks that encapsulate centuries of artistic and cultural heritage. The CH-Pix4D project spearheaded by LabMGF, a lab at Politecnico di Milano's Piacenza campus, leverages advanced photogrammetry tools to digitize these landmarks and safeguard them for future generations with the help of 3D maps. Using PIX4Dcatch and an RTK device, architecture students documented architectural works and sculptures with unprecedented speed and accuracy.

The data collected forms the foundation of a digital archive that allows users to explore Piacenza's cultural heritage interactively. This archive promotes real-time, data-driven conservation efforts and serves as a resource for educators, tourists, and conservationists. The project highlights the transformative potential of integrating accessible, user-friendly technology into heritage preservation.
