Developing Electronic Mapping, Unified Address Systems, and National Spatial Data Infrastructure in Armenia

Source: igismap
The Center of Geomatics subdivision of the Cadastre Committee has developed digital solutions to modernize Armenia’s land administration and spatial data management. During the Covid-19 pandemic, electronic maps were created that used population data to divide the country into hospital responsibility zones, enabling authorities to coordinate healthcare resources effectively. In parallel, the unified address database project standardized both legacy and new addresses in cooperation with local governments, ensuring consistency and public accessibility of address data through an automated system. Additionally, Armenia launched its National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) strategy, focusing on harmonizing cadastral data, developing standardisation documents, and creating integrated spatial data layers to support governance, economic development, and public access to information.
