    Project Details

TruePoint Laser Scanning was engaged by a leading producer of rolled-steel products for the automotive industry to capture precise as-built site details and develop a comprehensive 3D model to facilitate the relocation of a 12-inch diameter pipe within the COG line. The scope of work encompassed scanning and modeling approximately 330,000 square feet of the facility, covering critical areas such as pipe racks, platform walkways, the coke battery, and the Exhauster Building.

This initiative was undertaken to support the client's complex infrastructure modifications by delivering a high-accuracy Level of Development (LOD) 300 Revit model. The detailed 3D model provided by TruePoint Laser Scanning was instrumental in ensuring a seamless relocation process by enabling precise planning, clash detection, and coordination with stakeholders. The application of advanced laser scanning technology minimized potential design conflicts, reduced project risks, and optimized workflow efficiency, ultimately contributing to a streamlined execution of the relocation project.
