    Project Details

The Danish Register of Underground Cable Owners (Ledningsejerregistret.dk) is a secure, nationwide digital platform developed by the Agency for Data Supply and Infrastructure (SDFI). It offers a single point of access to detailed data on underground cables and pipes—including water, sewage, gas, power, and broadband infrastructure. When contractors plan to dig, they define an area of interest; the platform then queries all relevant cable owners, who automatically return standardised data. SDFI compiles these datasets into one package and delivers it back to the contractor, reducing wait time from days to minutes. Launched after over three years of digitisation work by utility owners, the platform handled about 3 million transactions in 2023, playing a vital role in Denmark’s district heating and electricity grid expansion and supporting the green transition.
