TruePoint was commissioned to architecturally document the multilevel, center courtyard areas of two shopping malls in the greater Chicago area. The primary objective was to capture the exact locations of storefronts, walls, windows, doors, handrails, fountains, ceilings, and other architectural details. Additionally, the project included the documentation of a subfloor level of unused space at the second mall location. Using the Leica ScanStation P40, TruePoint efficiently captured as-built dimensions of all areas, including intricate and high ceiling details that are difficult to measure manually. This comprehensive digital capture allowed the lead architect to create precise final designs, ensuring a smooth construction process.
