TruePoint was commissioned to perform 3D laser scanning of a vacant university campus building to create accurate historical documentation of its exterior façade, interior courtyard, rooftop, and bell tower. The client, aiming to repurpose the building while preserving its architectural integrity, required precise documentation for the rehabilitation project. TruePoint’s CAD designers utilized the colorized 3D laser scan data to generate an LOD 350 model and 2D AutoCAD elevations with point cloud overlay, ensuring the preservation of the building’s historic details.
