The Vigo City Council faced a challenge of disconnected urban data spread across various systems, making it difficult to gain a holistic understanding of the city's dynamics. To address this, Esri developed an innovative solution by creating a 3D digital twin of Vigo. This virtual model integrates disparate datasets into a cohesive, visual representation of the city, enabling advanced simulations and analyses. Applications range from urban planning and land registry management to sustainability assessments, such as analysing solar potential for buildings or modelling flood risks and acoustic impacts. The digital twin not only facilitates smarter decision-making but also empowers the Vigo City Council to proactively address urban challenges with precision and foresight.
