    Project Details

The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), through the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs (FGA), has initiated the long-term establishment of a Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) to modernize governance, improve data accessibility, and support economic development. The SDI integrates multiple components, including a GIS Browser, a metadata catalogue (19 metadata records entered), and registers of data sources and subjects, all accessible via a unified Geoportal. Data harmonisation has been carried out for 12 datasets following the EU INSPIRE standard, 54 SDI subjects and 109 data sources have been registered, while address data has been published for the first time for one-third of municipalities through the Address Register initiative. Supported by the Council, Working Groups, and international partners like the Swedish government, this effort is also linked to the forthcoming adoption of a national SDI law that will serve as the legislative backbone for further implementation and EU alignment.
