    Project Details

The Höllentalklamm, or Hell's Gorge, near Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the German Alps, is a natural spectacle 1,000 meters high. It's part of the trail to Zugspitze peak, requiring a historic bridge built in 1905. Due to deterioration, the bridge and footbridges were replaced in 2020 with funds raised by the German Alpine Association (DAV) and support from ZÜBLIN / STRABAG and Thyssen-Krupp. The original bridge, completed over 600 working days without modern machinery, was replaced manually. ZÜBLIN / STRABAG engineers, local company Florian Dörfler, and DAV volunteers prefabricated new bridge components, navigating challenging terrain and a narrow gorge.
