The project involves supporting the ambitious goals of the Netherlands in expanding its offshore wind capacity, as outlined in the 2013 Dutch Energy Agreement and the subsequent announcement of a new target in 2022. The objective is to achieve 21 GW of offshore wind energy by 2030, contributing significantly to the country's energy needs. To ensure the successful development of offshore wind projects, there is a need for fast, accurate, and reliable assessments of metocean (meteorological and oceanographic) conditions in the designated areas.
