In 2023, Armenia implemented a significant legislative framework to standardise and regulate national spatial data, geodetic, and cartographic activities, led by the Cadastre Committee. As a central output of this effort, a national geoportal was launched, integrating digitised basic cartographic layers derived from orthophotos and offering a unified platform for public access. This geoportal hosts automatically updated spatial layers including land plots, buildings, ownership types, and cadastral information. The introduction of the Metadata Catalogue further strengthened data transparency, allowing users to view, create, and search metadata related to both raster and vector datasets. In a nationwide effort, around 35,000 geographic names were standardised, while over one million addresses were adjusted to populate a Unified Address Registry. Cadastral maps are now accessible entirely online, reducing the need for physical visits to government offices. In parallel, a mobile application was released, enhancing accessibility and service delivery. This digital ecosystem has significantly improved data-sharing efficiency, user engagement, and decision-making capability across state bodies, private enterprises, and research communities.
