    Project Details

The project was designed to assess vegetation distribution and topographic variations within a designated site, focusing specifically on determining the number of shrubs in the area. Using cutting-edge drone-mounted LiDAR systems, Mapper and Mapper+, the study showcased how aerial surveys can efficiently capture high-quality data over large, inaccessible terrains. The mission involved flying over 80,000 square meters at an altitude of 60–70 meters, using consistent flight parameters to ensure data comparability between the two systems.

The Mapper+ demonstrated superior efficiency, completing the survey in just 16 minutes compared to the Mapper's 19 minutes. Both systems delivered high-resolution imagery and topographic data, enabling accurate identification and counting of shrubs. The data acquired was processed through YellowScan CloudStation, facilitating further analysis and classification. This approach marked a significant improvement over traditional ground survey methods in terms of speed, coverage, and precision.
