    Project Details

The PAIOSA program in Burundi, led by Enabel and funded by the Belgian Government, integrates advanced agricultural monitoring tools to foster sustainable agricultural practices. Through EOSDA Crop Monitoring, 4,500 hectares of farmland across Burundi’s key regions, including the Imbo plain and Kirundo marshlands, are monitored for crop health, soil quality, and productivity. This initiative combines satellite imagery, drone photography, and in-field scouting to deliver data-driven insights for addressing critical challenges like soil fertility, planting schedules, and pest control. Farmers receive actionable recommendations to enhance yields, reduce inefficiencies, and mitigate risks posed by climate change, ensuring improved incomes and sustainable agricultural growth.
