Changi Airport Group (CAG) in Singapore, renowned for its efficiency and serenity, maintains its status as the world's leading airport through innovative management practices. To sustain excellence, CAG explores the latest laser scanning technology for comprehensive Facilities Management. By creating precise 3D models encompassing architectural, structural, and MEP aspects, CAG aims to enhance operations and ensure long-term value. This initiative includes developing an as-built Building Information Modeling (BIM) system, providing enduring support beyond renovation and expansion projects. TRS Registered Surveyor (JTRS), known for their advanced surveying techniques and cutting-edge equipment, was chosen to create the Building Information Modeling (BIM) of T2. Specializing in 3D laser scanning and photogrammetry, JTRS collaborated with BIM solution provider Geodelta System Sdn Bhd for the project.
Changi Airport Group's adoption of new BIM technology for future projects in Singapore marked a pioneering effort, with the project involving one of the largest Scan-to-BIM undertakings in the country, encompassing over 600,000 square meters and requiring extreme data clarity and resolution for modeling, including MEP aspects.
