    Project Details

In the pre-planning phase of a renovation project, the client needed to perform concrete coring but wanted to minimize damage to rebar and post-tension cables embedded in the concrete floor. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. (GPRS) was engaged to map these embedded elements, marking their locations directly on the concrete surface. TruePoint Laser Scanning followed up with 3D laser scanning technology to capture these markings and the surrounding structural details. The data was then converted into a comprehensive 3D CAD model, providing the client’s engineers with a precise and actionable plan to layout their coring operations, minimizing unnecessary hits and optimizing drilling paths.
