    Project Details

TruePoint was commissioned by the University of Kentucky to conduct a meticulous 3D laser scan of The Whitfield Stump, a fossilized 300-million-year-old lycopod tree stump weighing 7,000 pounds. This ancient artifact was being relocated across campus, and it was crucial to preserve its intricate details and surrounding environment. TruePoint's task was to capture the stump's exact dimensions and the existing conditions of its current site, ensuring that the re-creation at the new location would be as accurate as possible.
