3D Laser Scanning for the South Dakota State Capitol Building Restoration

TruePoint was tasked with providing detailed 3D laser scanning services for the South Dakota State Capitol Building, a historic landmark completed in 1910. The building features a copper dome, Corinthian columns, and intricate decorative elements such as granite and limestone rustication, ornate plasterwork, murals, paintings, and sculptures. The goal was to capture the as-built conditions to ensure accurate documentation of the architectural details and historic art for restoration purposes or in case of a natural disaster.
