    Project Details

In March 2022, Stonex conducted a comprehensive 3D survey of the historic Torretta Viscontea in Monza Park. The primary objective was to create a detailed and geo-referenced 3D digital twin of the building to produce accurate elevations and floor plans of its interiors and exteriors. This survey was a critical part of a redevelopment project in collaboration with the Consorzio Parco Villa Reale.

The survey integrated cutting-edge geomatic technologies, combining terrestrial laser scanning (TLS), aerial photogrammetry, and GNSS-based topographic methods. The integration of these methods enabled precise capture of the building's intricate architectural details, including its neo-Gothic facades, interiors, and tower. Data collection involved the use of high-resolution laser scanners (Stonex X300, X150, and XH120) and photogrammetric drones to capture both ground-level and aerial imagery. Post-processing was performed using Stonex Reconstructor and Cube-3d software to generate a colorized, geometrically reliable 3D model.
