Ordnance Survey Northern Ireland (OSNI) is leveraging its authoritative data to create CityGML LoD2-compliant 3D building models. These models capture detailed building elements such as mezzanine floors, overhanging rooms, and underground areas, while integrating linked property information including ownership, valuation, and addresses. For the first time, users can visualize property data in a rich 3D environment, reducing reliance on field surveys. The platform will empower valuation staff, caseworkers, and planners to conduct desktop analysis of properties, perform volumetric calculations, and assess spatial context such as orientation, flood risk, or solar potential.
